Line Overview

An Export-Grade Line
for Egypt's Sweet Potato Harvest.

Egypt is one of the world's top sweet potato producers. The processors who win export contracts are the ones with the right line behind them.

The SANAM Sweet Potato Washing Line takes raw tubers straight from the field through five designed stages — receiving and air-bubble washing, brush washing with sanitizer spray, hot-air drying, sorting and grading, then export-ready output. The entire line runs on a closed water cycle that cuts consumption by more than 50% versus a conventional setup.

Our reference installation runs at 5 ton/hour. The same architecture scales up to 10 ton/hour. Every machine in the line is custom-engineered to your factory footprint, your local water quality, and your buyer's spec sheet.

We design it. We fabricate it. We install it. We are reachable when something needs adjusting after year one.

  • Five designed stages — receiving, brushing, drying, grading, packing
  • Capacity scaling from 1 ton/hour up to 10 ton/hour, custom-configured
  • Closed water cycle — over 50% reduction vs. conventional washing setups
  • Stainless steel SS 304 food-grade construction throughout
  • Designed with engineering consultancy from England and India
  • 24/7 local after-sales service — no import delays, no waiting

Common Questions

What Buyers Ask Before They Order

Quick answers to the questions we hear most from packhouse owners, exporters, and operations managers evaluating a new line.

What capacity should I install — and can I scale up later?
The line is configured around your peak season throughput. Most installations run 3–5 ton/hour; the platform scales to 10 ton/hour. The architecture is modular, so adding capacity later means extending the wash, brush, and dryer modules — not replacing the line.
Can the line handle different sweet potato varieties and sizes?
Yes. Brush pressure, water flow, dryer temperature, and grader settings are all adjustable to your specific variety. Beauregard, Covington, white-flesh, orange-flesh — the line is calibrated during commissioning to your actual harvest characteristics, then locked into your operator recipes.
How much water does the line actually use?
The closed water cycle reduces consumption by more than 50% versus a conventional once-through wash setup. Actual usage depends on your line capacity, source water quality, and discharge regulations. We provide a water-and-power consumption sheet specific to your configuration before contract.
How long from contract to running line?
A complete sweet potato line typically runs 4–6 months from contract signature to commissioning, depending on capacity, sorting method, and your civil works readiness. We deliver a project schedule before contract so you can plan around your harvest season.
What about spare parts and after-sales service?
Because we manufacture locally in Egypt, spare parts are typically available within 48 hours — no import waits, no customs delays. We maintain a full spare-parts inventory at our 10th of Ramadan facility. After-sales service is 24/7 by phone and on-site within Egypt.
Does the line meet European and Gulf export hygiene standards?
Construction is SS 304 food-grade stainless steel. Sanitizer-spray nozzles are integrated at the brush bed. Surfaces are designed for full washdown between batches. The line is engineered to international hygienic-design principles and supports the documentation your export buyer's audit team will request.
